Based primarily in the UK, US and Singapore, Nick held regional and global leadership positions across multiple disciplines including Editorial Management, Energy Research, Product Management, Marketing, Strategy, Business Development, A&D and Sales. While in the US and Singapore, he specialised in developing and implementing successful commercial growth strategies in the emerging markets of Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Post-graduation, Nick was an oil and gas exploration geologist, consulting to numerous national and international energy companies across Australasia and Asia Pacific. In 1993 he joined the business information sector as an analyst, spending most of his career at IHS (now S&P Global). Focusing on strategy, business development and marketing, he played an important role in IHS’s significant organic and acquisitive growth after it went public in 2005. On retiring from full-time work in 2018, he joined the board of The Island Foundation Ltd, a Singapore charity transforming childhood learning in Indonesia’s remote coastal communities, and began mentoring postgraduate students at the University of Birmingham. He has also been working as a consultant and industry advisor.
Nick holds a BSc (Hons) in Geological Sciences from the University of Birmingham, UK.
